Multiroom Systems / Sonos

The Sonos system since its launch has taken the industry by storm. Sonos has an extremely intuitive remote control that offers you wireless control of music in any Zone in the house. You can use any remote in any room and the system expands up to 32 zones.

This system uses hard drive based music and internet radio, which is then wirelessly distributed throughout the house to any room. If you are an ipod fan or digital media enthusiast, then this system is right up your street.

The can run in tandem with a home computer network and indeed shares a standard internet connection to give you the choice of thousands of internet radio stations.

The remote control will give you live track information and will display the cover art of the tracks you are playing as well as controlling the volume and transport functions (play pause etc).

One of the great features of Sonos that has made it so popular with installers and customers alike is that, as it runs wirlessly to zones there is no need for cabling back to a central hub.

This makes Sonos ideal for properties where a multiroom system is on the wish list but no refurbishments or deocrating is planned so running cables back to a hub is just not prcatical.
